COLDWATER, MI - A Coldwater man entered no contest pleas to three child sex abuse counts Monday in Branch County Circuit Court. 23-year-old Brandon Michael Biggs is scheduled to be sentenced August 6, 2018 on charges of distributing and promoting child abusive material, having child sexually abusive material and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.

A Coldwater man who was initially charged with committing sex acts with an eight year old girl and posting the pictures on-line has cut a deal with prosecutors for reduced charges. 23-year-old Brandon Michael Biggs entered no contest pleas to three child sex abuse counts on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.

COLDWATER, MI - Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved the concept of using the savings from an approved jail millage question for additional road patrol deputies during their regular meeting Tuesday. It was pointed out during last Thursday's work session that according to a study, it has cost Branch County $934,000 to maintain the current County Jail over the last five years compared with only $286,000 that was spend between 2008 and 2012.
