Sarah Huckabee Sanders & Family Kicked Out of Restaurant
Sat, 23 Jun 2018 20:39:26 +0000
On Friday night, Stephanie Wilkinson, owner of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, kicked out Sarah Huckabee Sanders and seven members of her family because Sanders works for the president. “Progressives”–once again demonstrating their inability to think analogically–believe this ill-treatment of Sanders and her family is analogous to the Masterpiece Cakeshop case.
Once more for the obtuse among us, Jack Phillips didn’t refuse to serve homosexuals or kick them out of his bakery. He refused to create and sell a product for a type of event that violates his deeply held religious convictions. He served homosexuals regularly. The …

Jeanette Ward’s Profile in Courage, Grace, and Wisdom
Fri, 22 Jun 2018 09:00:05 +0000
School District U46 (Elgin, Illinois) School Board Member Jeanette Ward offers a profile in courage, grace, and wisdom, while fellow board members Veronica Noland and Melissa Owens offer profiles in hypocrisy and ignorance. Their hypocrisy and ignorance were revealed during a recent school board meeting discussion about proposed changes to the “Student Code of Conduct.”
In 2013, the board voted to add the terms “sexual orientation,” “gender identity” and “gender-related identity or expression” to the section of school board policy on bullying and harassment. Those are the only conditions constituted by subjective, internal feelings and volitional behavior to be specifically …

Important U.S. Supreme Court Decision Summaries (and Some Much-Needed Good News)
Thu, 21 Jun 2018 12:00:06 +0000
Many pro-family conservatives ask, “Isn’t there any good news to report?” Yes, there is. Some examples are the growing national economy, record low unemployment numbers for minorities, foreign policy changes from the G.W. Bush and Obama years, and, lately, even some positive decisions from the U.S. Supreme Court.
June is traditionally a big month for announcing decisions from the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), and this year is no exception. Below are a few of the cases decided and a few still pending.
It can take a lot of work to search out short case summaries put into …

Illinois state lawmakers from Chicago are moving quickly toward the legalization of "recreational" marijuana. There are many good reasons to be alarmed. Not all the risks of such a policy is known. For example, we need to understand what role marijuana has in the development of psychiatric diseases, such as psychosis. New research suggests shows that "in adolescents, cannabis use is harmful."

For decades now, sexual anarchists have declared June as LGBTQIA Pride Month, which is orchestrated in cities and towns across the nation with parades, drag shows and other revealing exhibitions. Of course, central to this leftist agenda is an aggressive push for political and cultural activism. |When Parents Push Back Against Transanity|

We’ve been saying for years that there will be a pushback against LGBTQ extremism. And it’s not because people are uncaring. Or intolerant. Or bigoted. Or unfair. Instead, the pushback comes as a rational reaction to the rising tide of transanity.

America Is Split Right Down the Middle on Abortion, Poll Shows
Fri, 15 Jun 2018 09:00:39 +0000
Americans are split evenly down the middle on whether abortion should remain legal, a Gallup poll published Monday reveals. Gallup’s annual Values and Beliefs poll shows that 48 percent of Americans identify as pro-choice while 48 percent identify as pro-life. While roughly half of Americans are pro-choice, more Americans believe that aborting unborn babies is morally wrong than morally acceptable, the poll shows.

How LGBT Activism Works, Illustrated in Front Of Our Eyes
Thu, 14 Jun 2018 16:00:32 +0000
It starts with one outraged person. Then, the outrage gets reported. Next, it becomes a story. Then it becomes a cause. It’s happening today, right in front of our eyes.
Earlier this week I reported how YouTube had come under attack from various LGBT websites and YT channels and social media accounts. The internet giant had committed the cardinal sin of playing conservative Christian ads on LGBT channels. How dare they!
To add insult to injury, YouTube had previously demonetized many of these LGBT videos, just as YouTube demonetized hundreds of my videos. They were deemed not appropriate for all …

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently came out with a report with staggering information. Suicide is on the rise. The report mentions that suicide rates are up more than 30 percent in half of the United States since 1999.
The report also shares that more than half of the people who died by suicide did not have a known mental health condition. In 2016 alone, about 45,000 lives were lost to suicide. Suicide is now one of the top 10 causes of death in the United States. Anthony Bourdain, Robin Williams, and Kate Spade were all …

Many of you have heard of George Barna, but I dare say you may not know the depth and breadth of of his life experience and accomplishments, and more importantly, his legacy.
As noted by Tim Stafford in Christianity Today, Barna, the Christian community's most-quoted statistician, "...is to evangelicals what George Gallup is to the larger culture."
What Does it Mean to be a Conservative?
Wed, 13 Jun 2018 11:00:30 +0000
What does it mean to be a Conservative? Historically, issues of faith and family that reflect traditional morals and values – the sanctity of life, heterosexual marriage, and belief in God and in His Word – have been the primary hallmarks of conservatism. But today, a new type of Conservative is emerging, one that identifies as an atheist, transgender, or gay. How (or can) we reconcile our established definition of conservatism with the views presented by these new, non-religious, non-traditional, self-proclaimed Conservative voices?
Dr. Michael L. Brown contrasts the foundational importance of faith, family, and freedom to the traditional conservative …

I hated being a single parent. Still do. I am sure my grown children agree that being raised by Homer Simpson was horrible. They are all healthy and productive members of society, despite being raised by an ogre, in no small part because of our extended family. Aunts and uncles caulked the gaps left by my inadequacies, sins and failures.
Family is not a reality show or a how-to series on cable. I had a whole family until my wife went home to Christ in 1998, leaving three small children in my charge and care.

Troubling SCOTUS Decision on Cake-Baker
Fri, 08 Jun 2018 12:00:52 +0000
In a 7-2 decision the U.S. Supreme Court decided in favor of Colorado baker Jack Phillips who was sued by a homosexual couple, Charlie Craig and Dave Mullins, for declining to bake a wedding cake for their pseudo-wedding. While the decision is, indeed, a victory, a careful reading should dampen the celebration.
Phillips was appealing a decision reached by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission—a decision suffused with unmitigated religious hostility condemned by Justice Anthony Kennedy writing for the majority:
