8th Sunday after Pentecost
Sat, 14 Jul 2018 17:00:00 GMT

How necessary then the "Prayer" for "doing and thinking" what is right. Active participation in the Mass, advised Pope St. Pius X, is the indispensable source of the true Christian spirit, how to pray and how to live. The Epistle bids us reflect [...]

VII Sunday after Pentecost
Sat, 07 Jul 2018 17:00:00 GMT
Mass for the VII Sunday will be celebrated at St Francis of Assisi, Llay at 12.30pm tomorrow. We are compared to trees in today's Gospel. The good tree bears good fruit and the bad tree bears bad fruit. Very often we mistake good for perfection. Protestants rail against the Church because of the doctrine of Papal infallibility. Papal infallibility does not imply impeccability (freedom from sin). The faith of the True Church teaches us that the legitimate successor to St. Peter is guided [...]

A meditation on the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ
Sat, 30 Jun 2018 17:00:00 GMT
After Our Lord’s death on the cross a soldier pierced His side with a sword. Blood and water poured forth from this wound. When the priest prepares the chalice for consecration he pours in wine and water. We ask why Blood and water and why wine and water? St. Ambrose tells us that water came forth from Christ’s side so that we might be cleansed and Blood so that we might be redeemed. Water is also used in the sacrament of Baptism to symbolize the cleansing of the soul t [...]
