|Winter storm dumps snow in Texas, western Oklahoma|

An early season winter storm has dumped up to 7 inches of snow in the Texas Panhandle and lesser amounts in the western half of Oklahoma as it moves toward Arkansas. Meteorologist John Cockrell with the National Weather Service in Amarillo said Monday that the heaviest snowfall was reported around Amarillo.

Southwest Medical Center and Memorial Hospital of Texas County have announced plans for Southwest Medical Center to begin providing clinic services for OB/GYN patients in the Guymon community. Clinic services will continue under a new name on November 12. Southwest Medical Center, a regional medical center in Liberal, Kansas, has coordinated with MHTC, for the transition of providers at the High Plains OB Clinic to continue Obstetrical and Gynecological services at the 421 Medical Drive location.

Following the announcements on the closure of the obstetrics department at Memorial Hospital of Texas County, doctors have made efforts to meet with community leaders to stand up for the needs of patients. During the past two days, it has been revealed that they have received little communication from hospital administration.
|Guymon boys roll to East regional cross country championship|

The Guymon High School boys cross country team rolled to the Class 5A East Regional Championship Saturday in Owasso, winning the team title with 32 points, 48 points ahead of second place Tahlequah. The boys will defend their state championship next weekend at Edmond Santa Fe High School.
|Land for Largest Field of Switchgrass for Bioenergy Acquired|

Oklahoma has secured 1,100 acres of land for the world's largest stand of switchgrass devoted to cellulosic ethanol production. Planting will take place within the next 45 days.
