This course will include all decorating basics for the beginner. Learn different borders and decorating techniques for cakes. Students will need to furnish supplies for decorating. A list will be given the first night of class.

The Baker Arts Center in Liberal, KS will be hosting a “Sea Magic” exhibit and contest in conjunction with the Sea Lion SPLASH & Scott’s Crazy Comedy Magic Show event. All artwork must include one or more animals that live both in water and on land, a magic element or a combination of both. (This can include, but is not limited to, amphibians, sea lions, alligators, turtles, polar bears, etc.) There is no entry fee to enter this exhibit. Age Categories Media Preschool-Kindergarten- ages 3-5 2-Dimensional- drawings, paintings, printmaking, collage 1st-3rd Grade 3-Dimensional- sculpture, clay, wood, etc. 4th-6th Grade Photography- color, black & white, digital Middle School- 7th & 8th Grade High School- 9th-12th Grade Adult- 18 & up Specifications 2- Dimensional artwork and photography must be no smaller than 8X10 or larger than 16X20 unmatted. Artwork may be matted or mounted on poster board or framed to a larger dimension. 3-Dimensional artwork may not exceed 24”X24”X24” and will be displayed in cases or on pedestals. All entries must be labeled on the back with the artists name, age/grade, address, phone, school, and teacher. Prizes 1 Merit Award Recipient will be chosen in each age category These will be chosen based on use of theme, originality, and creativity Prizes will be $100.00 for each student per age category and $100.00 to their classroom. Adult prize will be $100.00. Deadline and delivery of work All entries must arrive at the Baker Arts Center located at 624 N. Pershing in Liberal, KS, by 5:00 pm CT on April 12, 2019. Artwork may be mailed or hand delivered or call 620-624-2810 to make arrangements for delivery assistance. Pick up of Work Artwork must be picked up from the exhibit by 5:00 pm on May 17, 2019 or it will be considered property of the Baker Arts Center.

The public is invited to join the Equity Bank staff at the Flag Pole in the east parking lot in front of the main bank at 1700 N Lincoln for the National Day of Prayer observance on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 7:45 am. This class will look at the code provisions covering the construction of residential decks. Using the AWC-DC62012- Deck Guide- 1405 as a guide, the instructor will walk through the various stages of deck construction. From planning and lay out to construction of the deck. This course will help you better utilize the various sizing tables for footings, joist and beam sizing and fastener requirements. Proper ledger board attachment requirements and the uses of approved fasteners and connection bracket. Requirements for stairs, guardrails and handrails and other requirements such as safety glazing will be covered. The program also includes covering topics in Chapter 8 of the 2015 IRC with an in-depth look at roof framing. This is a technical overview of the various rafter span, joint connection and uplift connections. How to properly use the tables and specified requirements to install roof framing and roof deck requirements. Attendees will receive copy of the Residential Decks- Construction Guidelines based on the 2015 IRC.

This training is a 3-day, 15-hour course designed to prepare participants for the journeyman plumber exam. Bring a calculator, highlighter, and paper for note taking to class. The books are not provided. Participants must purchase their own 2015 edition of the International Plumbing Code book and the 2015 edition of the International Fuel Gas Code book.
