Brush fire erupts near Clark County Wetlands Park

A brush fire is burning Thursday evening near Clark County Wetlands Park and Sam Boyd Stadium. Clark County firefighters were called of the fire about 5:30 p.m., according to Clark County Fire Department Deputy Chief Kelly Blackmon. “We are currently on scene and monitoring the progress,” Blackmon said in a release.

North Las Vegas donates outdated fire engine to Mexican city's department

North Las Vegas is donating an outdated fire engine to Michoacan, Mexico, under a deal unanimously approved Wednesday night by the City Council. Fire Truck No. 473, an out-of-service Spartan Gladiator Aerial Ladder truck built in 1994, no longer meets the needs of the North Las Vegas Fire Department, Fire Chief Joseph Calhoun said in a report submitted to the City Council.

Two juveniles rescued from apartment fire on Pheasant Drive in Carson City

wo juveniles were pulled from the second story of an apartment in the 3900 block of Pheasant Drive in Carson City on Wednesday morning. Carson City fire crews were called to the complex at 10:46 a.m. Upon arrival the crews saw flames on the second floor of the apartment complex. The children, an 8-year-old and a teenager, were injured in the fire, according to fire department personnel.

Three pets lost, family displaced after fire destroys trailer at Reno mobile home park

A family has been displaced after a fire completely destroyed a trailer at a Reno mobile home park on Wednesday afternoon. An on-duty battalion chief with the Reno Fire Department says the fire broke out inside a home at the Fairview Mobile Manner on Kietzke Lane shortly before 7 p.m. on May 16. Authorities say three pets were lost in the fire.

Firefighters put out blaze at North Las Vegas car repair shop

A fire that probably started in a sofa on a patio resulted in a minor injury to a firefighter and three occupants being displaced late Saturday. The call to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue came at 11:48 p.m. at West Washington and Comstock avenues, near Martin Luther King Boulevard. Arriving firefighters found a large patio behind a one-story wood frame/stucco house heavily involved with fire, which was beginning to burn the back of the house.

Fire in Las Vegas lumber yard caused by homeless cooking fire

A fire at a lumber yard early Friday was caused by a cooking fire at an adjacent homeless encampment, according to the Clark County Fire Department. When firefighters arrived about 4:20 a.m. at 84 Lumber, 4330 S. Decatur Blvd., near Flamingo Road, they found a building engulfed in flames. It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze because of a malfunctioning fire hydrant and multiple parked trucks loaded with lumber, according to the Fire Department.

Henderson house fire fills morning sky with steep plume of smoke

Nearly 3,300 NV Energy were without power after a small fire along Muller Lane on Thursday afternoon. An injured backcountry skier was rescued near the Mt. Rose summit on Saturday evening, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office reported.
