SEED & PLANT SWAP/SALE- EASTER SATURDAY There will be a socially distanced seed and plant swap/sale on: Saturday morning 3rd April on the driveway of 18 Berens Road from 10:30 -13:30. This is being run by the Shrivenham Allotment Gardens Association (SAGA) and any funds raised will be used to help improve the allotments If you have spare seeds or even too many young plants please bring them along. Loose seeds in suitable containers or envelopes will be available and we already have lots of runner beans and sunflower seeds with packets of flowers and vegetables looking for a good home. We also have some Autumn Raspberry plants. Please ensure everything is suitably marked of course! Please bring containers such as yogurt pots, or similar tubs or plastic bags or envelopes, to take away what you would like to try. The idea is to swap, or for a donation, to take away something you would like to try. |

Remembrance Day Service There will be a short Remembrance Day Service by the War Memorial outside St Andrew's Church, Shrivenham at 1100 on Sunday 8th November. The Service will begin at 1100 with two minutes silence followed by the reading of names and laying of wreaths etc. Those wishing to attend should arrive at 1055. |

Join us on Sunday, 5 July at 5pm to give the NHS our biggest applaud
We are dedicating our 72nd birthday to thanking everyone who has supported the NHS during Coronavirus. So please join us and the nation wherever you are on Sunday, 5 July at 5pm to give the biggest Thank You NHS clap. What else is happening? As part of the NHS anniversary weekend national landmarks will be ‘lit up blue’ . There will also be a minute’s silence at 8pm on Saturday 4 July to remember the tens of thousands of victims of coronavirus. At the same time people will be encouraged to place lamps, torches or candles in their windows in remembrance. |

TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, that the Oxfordshire County Council TEMPORARILY PROHIBITS THE USE OF AND WAITING ON THE HIGHWAY BY ALL MOTOR VEHICLES LOCATION: Shrivenham, Faringdon Road REASON: To facilitate carriageway resurfacing works DURATION: Starting on 14 October 2020 The anticipated completion date is 16 October 2020 (date included). This will operate between 20:00 and 06:00 (Traffic Regulation Notices cover a maximum of 5 consecutive days.) ACCESS: limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of road, subject to the progress of the works The “No Waiting” restriction means that wherever there are in place yellow “No Waiting” cones, you will not be able to park vehicles on the highway. SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Traffic wishing to use Faringdon Road will be diverted east from the mini roundabout along Longcot Road, to turn into Majors Road at the crossroads, returning to the A420 Watchfield Roundabout, to turn south back into Faringdon Road towards Shrivenham, and vice versa. Access to Shrivenham Park Golf Club will be maintained via Pennyhooks Lane and the A420 Watchfield Roundabout. |

Shrivenham based cycle mechanic, Lew Lawton, will be providing cycle safety check on Sat 6th June between 8.30 AM and 12 Midday. The bike checks will be carried out on the Car Park at the Junction of Highworth Road and Martens Road. In line with guidance from the Association of Cycle Traders the checks will be conducted as follows:
